BECO Sustainability – “our responsibility to knowledge”

At BECO, sustainability extends beyond infrastructure—it’s about empowering communities through knowledge. In 2023, we honored this commitment by constructing a modern educational complex in Sistan and Baluchestan, one of Iran’s most underserved regions. This project embodies our belief that access to education is the foundation of sustainable development.

  • The Initiative: A School for Tomorrow
  • Project: Construction of a 3,500m² educational facility
  • Location: Sistan and Baluchestan Province

Scope:

  • 12 classrooms, science labs, and a library
  • Renewable energy integration (solar-powered lighting)
  • Earthquake-resistant design (compliant with Iranian Standard 2800)
  • Sustainable water and sanitation systems

Impact:

  • 🎓 720+ students now learn in a safe, technology-enabled environment.
  • 💡 Reduced dropout rates by 40% in the first academic year.
  • 🌱 Community hub: Hosts adult literacy programs and vocational training.

The Need: Sistan and Baluchestan has Iran’s lowest literacy rate (UNESCO, 2022).
